Mountain View, Calif. — October 12, 2004— Stratify, Inc., a leader in advanced electronic discovery, today announced the release of the Stratify Legal Discovery 4.0 service with advanced capabilities for law firms and corporate legal departments to accelerate electronic discovery while controlling legal costs. Electronic discovery is being transformed by the ongoing explosion of discoverable information in legal proceedings (including emails, desktop documents, PDFs and OCR documents) together with new document compliance regulations and requirements. Attorneys must control discovery costs while accelerating review to assess and/or mitigate legal risk. Responding to this reality the Stratify Legal Discovery 4.0 service enhances the arsenal of electronic discovery tools that attorneys have at their disposal for complex litigation and legal investigations.
Designed for law firms and corporate legal departments, Stratify's technology automatically analyzes and catalogs discoverable documents, weeding out irrelevant content and reducing the universe of reviewable documents by 40 – 70% or more. The result is a comprehensive organization of all discoverable documents in as little as 24 hours — a task that traditionally could take weeks or months to complete.
“Dozens of law firms and legal departments across the nation have already adopted Stratify as their discovery provider of choice,” said Ramana Venkata, Stratify's President and CEO. “Stratify is building on the early success of the Stratify Legal Discovery service to deliver new functions that our customers have requested while continuing to lower the cost of electronic discovery. These new features will continue to drive the value that in-house and outside counsel can deliver to their clients.”
At the heart of the Stratify Legal Discovery 4.0 service is Stratify's unique technology to automatically create intelligent concept folders specific to a case or matter based on the content of the document universe, organize these concepts hierarchically based on their interrelationships, and then automatically sort documents into relevant concept folders. Concept folders provide unparalleled insight into the document universe because they represent what documents are about rather than simply what keywords occur within them. Concept folders enable attorneys to quickly identify key documents based on an intuitive understanding of a case or matter without the need for any manual searching. At all times attorneys can take advantage of Stratify's integrated full-text search to further narrow the universe of documents under review.
The Stratify Legal Discovery 4.0 service introduces a series of new document review and analysis capabilities, including seamless in-line redaction, message unit tagging, and additional workflow features. These new capabilities are directly integrated with Stratify's contextual document review. As they review and analyze documents in native format, attorneys can directly access similar documents, attachments, duplicates and near duplicate documents. Additionally, attorneys can now redact individual words or document areas, as well as search for and redact specific words or phrases across an entire document without requiring any special software or services. There are no format restrictions for these new document redaction capabilities, and redacted versions are always available and are automatically included in production sets. When tagging documents, the Stratify Legal Discovery 4.0 service allows reviewers to tag documents individually, en masse, or as a "message unit." Message unit tagging enables reviewers to tag a document and all its attachments in a single operation.
