Stratify Legal Discovery™ 7.0

Delivers Enhanced High Performance eDiscovery

Only Solution to Combine Scalability, Reliability, and Innovative Technologies to Improve eDiscovery Processes

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA —January 24, 2007 – Stratify, Inc., one of the largest providers of electronic discovery services, today announced the release of the Stratify Legal Discovery 7.0 service with an array of new features that enables attorneys to maximize review rates of discoverable materials and more efficiently manage the discovery process from start to finish. Stratify also debuts the Stratify Legal Discovery™ 7.0 alliance version that allows Stratify channel partners and resellers complete access to the full range of Stratify eDiscovery capabilities as an in-house application that they can share with other parties, including their own law firm and corporate clients, to work on litigation, internal and regulatory matters.

“This new version of Stratify Legal Discovery embodies the best practices developed working with our top law firm and international corporate clients,” said Ramana Venkata, president and CEO, Stratify. “The release of Stratify Legal Discovery 7.0, with the new Processing Console and enhanced production, search, and foreign language support, moves the whole eDiscovery market forward and gives our clients more ways to know what they have and how to deliver that information in litigation matters or government investigations.”

With experts claiming that U.S. companies with over $1 billion in annual revenue are engaged in an average of 147 lawsuits simultaneously, organization and project management become key issues in litigation and investigatory matters. Stratify Legal Discovery customers consistently report document review rates many times higher than with in-house and traditional online systems, thanks to Stratify’s advanced technologies. Last year alone, Stratify’s customers saved more than an estimated $250 million and 1.4 million hours of unnecessary review.

Stratify Legal Discovery 7.0’s new capabilities will enable attorneys to continue to increase their review efficiency while providing greatly enhanced “back-end” data processing and management. Built on top of Stratify’s industry-leading, innovative core technologies, these new capabilities include:

  • Stratify Processing Console: This Web-based application provides complete workflow management for each matter, including data restoration, culling and filtering, the creation of concept folders, document sorting, search indexing, together with data validation and exceptions handling prior to deployment to the review site. The workflow can be easily reconfigured and the application provides extensive reporting at every processing stage.
  • Production Organizer: This feature helps ensure that privileged documents are not inadvertently produced. Using a step-by-step online “wizard”, managers can select production criteria (e.g., responsive, confidential, Bates-labeling), load the proposed production sets and review and validate the results. Managers can also easily create detailed privilege logs using document descriptions created during the review stage and leveraging any stored metadata (e.g., document creation date, author, recipients, etc.). After documents have been produced, managers can search for documents by specific Bates number or range, and produced documents and multiple production sets can be accessed in the review application.
  • Enhanced Complex Language Support: Stratify continues to expand its foreign language capabilities as the only e-discovery service provider who offers fully integrated language capabilities. Attorneys can search, view, annotate, highlight and redact document text and metadata fields in all the standard European languages as well as complex languages such as Chinese, Japanese and Korean. In complex matters containing documents in multiple languages, language-specific concept folders are created for concept-based review.
  • Search Hit Highlighting and Navigation: Search terms in documents and emails are automatically highlighted so reviewers can navigate from hit to hit and quickly identify and review key terms and issues in context instead of slogging through thousands of pages trying to find them. Hit highlighting operates for all languages supported by the Stratify Legal Discovery application, including most Western European languages, as well as Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

The Stratify Legal Discovery 7.0 alliance version extends these new capabilities to major consulting firms and litigation support providers. Strategic partners who handle confidential, secure internal investigations or regulatory responses can now share the advanced technologies and time-saving features that Stratify has pioneered in the legal discovery market. The scalable architecture, which has been used in multi-terabyte matters involving hundreds of concurrent reviewers, was specifically designed to satisfy the high level of reliability Stratify strategic partners and clients expect and require.

“Our partner, law firm and corporate clients all attest to the integral role that the Stratify Legal Discovery service has played in their most important litigation and investigative matters. Over the past several months alone, we have partnered with dozens of law firms and companies on fast-moving, high-stakes stock option investigations, where speed, accuracy, and scalability are mission-critical,” said Stephen Whetstone, Esq., Stratify’s Vice President of Client Development & Strategy and a former litigation partner at Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, LLP in Boston and litigator at Skadden. “Now the world’s top litigation consulting and litigation support firms can bring this best-of-class technology to their own clients and investigations. With our alliance partners, Stratify will continue to drive the legal discovery paradigm away from tired, unreliable, and inefficient approaches to reviewing documents to more sophisticated, accurate, and financially-sensible methods.”
