MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – November 28, 2006 – Stratify, Inc., a leader in advanced electronic discovery for the legal and compliance markets, today announced that it has doubled its Boston office in less than a year to provide enhanced support to its rapidly-growing client base on the East Coast. To continue to meet the needs of its Fortune 500 and major law firm clients, Stratify has added to its project management and processing teams and expanded its physical infrastructure to become the largest provider of sophisticated e-discovery in Boston.
With changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure – which mandate review and production of electronically stored information – scheduled to take effect on December 1, 2006, the e-discovery industry is at an important juncture. These rules changes, together with the combination of a massive propagation of electronic data and more aggressive pursuit of that data by litigators and government regulators, makes finding reliable and cost-effective electronic discovery software and services a priority for corporate counsel and law firms alike.
The electronic discovery market is expected to top $2 billion in total vendor revenues by 2008. Stratify is driving this growth by providing strategic e-discovery services to 80% of the AmLaw 50 and dozens of other top law firms and companies across the country and impacting litigation around the world.
“Law firms and corporations are recognizing that there is simply too much data to review one page or one click at a time,” said Stephen Whetstone, Esq., a former Partner at Testa Hurwitz & Thibeault, LLP and litigator at Skadden Arps and now Stratify’s Vice President of Client Development & Strategy and the head of the Boston office. “They will no longer tolerate the inevitable errors, long delays, and huge financial drain associated with traditional methods of discovery. Stratify’s advanced technology allows lawyers to work more quickly and with greater accuracy, resulting in huge dollar savings for law firms and their clients. We estimate overall savings for our clients at more than $250 million and 1.4 million hours over the past 12 months alone.”
Since 2005, Stratify has worked with virtually all of Boston’s top law firms on dozens of their most critical litigation and investigation matters, including complex civil and criminal cases and government inquiries. In addition, the Boston office supports a large number of matters with law firms and Fortune 500 companies up and down the East Coast, including clients in New York, Philadelphia and Washington D.C.
“With the new federal e-discovery rules slated to take effect on December 1st and a growing number of courts and litigants wrestling with e-discovery disputes, lawyers need the right tools to meet the new technology challenge,” said Stephen G. Huggard, Partner at Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP in Boston. “Our firm has relied on Stratify’s advanced document review and analysis capabilities to get the job done on several critical matters. The old tools just won’t cut it.”
