Sponsors New Track at LegalTech® to Examine Email Impact on Compliance and Discovery

Leading Litigators, Corporate Counsel and Legal Experts Join Forces to Advance Industry Knowledge on Key Email Issues

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — January 18, 2006— Stratify, Inc., a leader in advanced electronic discovery services for the legal market, announced the company will sponsor a new track entitled “The Email Challenge: Data, Compliance, Discovery” at LegalTech 2006, February 1, in New York City. This new track will assemble panels of industry experts to discuss and examine the substantive legal, regulatory and technological issues impacting email management, compliance and discovery.

“Stratify’s role in sponsoring this new track is to help educate the market on the challenges – both substantive as well as technical – that email discovery poses to litigators and corporate counsel alike,” said David Bayer, vice president marketing and business development, Stratify. “As new technologies impact the courts, case law, and litigation practice, leading eDiscovery vendors such as Stratify need to be at the forefront in educating the market as well as developing tools and new solutions, such as Stratify Visual Email Analytics that address these problems.”

For today’s litigators, the biggest hot button in data discovery is email, which continues to be at the center of major changes currently transforming legal practice. Litigators and corporate counsel face critical discovery challenges related to email based on the enormous data volume and the unique characteristics of messages, as well as significant related compliance and regulatory issues. On February 1, Stratify will host two panels of distinguished guests to discuss these issues.

The first panel, “Got Email? Critical Legal, Regulatory and Production Issues,” scheduled for 10:30 a.m., will examine how email communication differs from traditional document management, the implications of new case law, federal rules and compliance regulations for email management as well as the infrastructure issues that must be considered to meet new compliance mandates and discovery requirements. The panel will feature Benton Armstrong, partner, Forensic Technology Solutions, PricewaterhouseCoopers; Robert D. Brownstone, Esq., Fenwick & West LLP; Kevin Cloherty, Esq., vice president and chief counsel, Global Compliance, John Hancock; Andrew Cohen, Esq., senior counsel and director, EMC; and Stephen Whetstone, Esq., vice president client development and strategy, Stratify.

The second panel, “Discovering the ‘Smoking Gun’: New Visual Tools and Their Impact,” scheduled for 1:30 p.m., will review the current state of email analysis and discovery, examine new visual approaches to analyzing large email collections and will explore how these new tools will impact legal practice. Panelists include Craig Ball, Esq.; Richard Finkelman, director, Navigant; Petra LaFountain, practice support manager, Hunton & Williams LLP; Carlos F. Ortiz, Esq., partner, DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary LLP; and Ramana Venkata, CEO, Stratify.
