Michael Sugrue, Esq.
Director
Michael is a Director at Stratify. Among other things, Michael is responsible for keeping abreast of legal developments affecting electronic discovery, working with law firms and general counsel to craft document retention and discovery best practices, and honing Stratify’s strategic position and services and product offerings in the legal market.
Prior to joining Stratify, Michael was a senior associate in the Securities Litigation & SEC Enforcement group at Goodwin Procter LLP in Boston, a litigation associate at Latham & Watkins LLP in New York City, and a paralegal at McCarter & English LLP in Newark, NJ. Michael gained significant experience in managing all aspects of the electronic discovery process including: drafting and responding to discovery requests; negotiating the scope of discovery with adverse parties and regulators; engaging third-party service providers to collect and restore electronically stored information; and coordinating the review of such information by large teams of associates and/or contract attorneys using in-house technology or third-party, web-based tools.
Michael earned a BA in Political Science and German from the College of the Holy Cross, and a JD from Seton Hall University School of Law, magna cum laude, where he served as the Business Editor of the Law Review. Michael is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, New York and in the U.S. District Courts for District of Massachusetts and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Prior to law school, Michael represented the United States as a Fulbright Scholar to Germany, where he attained fluency in both written and spoken German.
