Ramana Venkata
President, Iron Mountain Digital
Ramana Venkata was appointed president of Iron Mountain Digital, the technology arm of Iron Mountain, in November 2009. He is responsible for architecting the strategy and execution of the digital business unit which is the world's leading provider of digital information management services for data protection and recovery, digital archiving and eDiscovery.
Venkata most recently served as chief operating officer of Iron Mountain Digital where he was responsible for structuring the Company’s next phase of growth, with an approach of integrating its services into a holistic solution suite. Venkata joined Iron Mountain in 2007 through its acquisition of the eDiscovery firm Stratify, Inc., which he founded and ran as chief executive officer.
Venkata founded Stratify in 1999, and built the company to be the fastest-growing and leading provider of technology-enabled Electronic Data Discovery services to AmLaw 200 law firms and Fortune 500 corporations. Earlier, Venkata served at Intel Corporation working on data mining methodologies and applications. He completed five years of Ph.D. research in Scientific Computing and Computational Mathematics at Stanford University, holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford, and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai.
